白瑾於去年尾2014年12月20日中午在台北國泰醫院因病去世，他走了不禁使我想起我與他相處的林林總總，大約在六十年前，我剛剛進成功大學建築工程系當學生的時候，他剛服完兵役回系擔任助教，當時與漢寶德同事，不久到楊卓成事務所工作一段短時期，與鄭至雄同事共同參與松山機場擴建工程，不久即兩人相偕坐船赴美深造。

我在學校時曾修過白瑾的父親白鐵錚的課，畢業之後到台北工作時才認識白瑾的妹妹白玲，那時她正在實踐家專求學，也就是我現在的內人。
