Challenges of the Roof and Exterior Wall Design for Kaohsiung Music Center  

From design to construction, we encountered many difficulties for the complicated geometric forms, including limitations on constructions and interfaces between various engineering, among all kinds of controllable and uncontrollable conditions.

高雄流行音樂中心基地位於高雄港11-15號碼頭（光榮碼頭與真愛碼頭），沿著愛河整體河岸景觀建置多樣性的展演空間。河的左岸，包含6間小型展演空間以及海洋文化展示中心；右側則有流行音樂展示區（高低塔）及大型室內表演廳(LPH)。創新的建築設計及造型，對外牆及屋頂系統設計帶來國內前所未有挑戰，包含材料選擇、系統可行性、介面整合、施工方法、工期掌握、成本控制、未來清潔維護等，皆是設計發包階段設計專案團隊一連串專家會議、腦力激盪的成果。文中針對三個主要建築構造之外牆及屋頂系統，做性能標準的專業性論述。
