Experiment and Practice in the Dense City

Under the influence of capitalist logic, Hong Kong architecture has not exerted its expected impact within the Chinese architectural sphere. This issue introduces emerging Hong Kong architects and scholars to Taiwanese readers, hoping for greater interaction and exchange between architects in Taiwan and Hong Kong in the future.

在香港出生與接受建築教育的訓練，對於在這個城市做建築是件迷惑的事情。迷惑的原因不只是創作機會相對少，更是高度資本主義下的慣性建築思考。當然香港有很多有理想的建築設計師，近年由於疫情與經濟慢下來的原因，反而有許多不同的嘗試去尋找香港建築的本質。 香港建築在亞洲一直處於邊緣化的地位，相信因為建築類型偏以商業為主，另一方面香港沒太多屬於本土的建築媒體或評論，對比臺灣建築一直擁有很高的討論度，從媒體到學者，有相對完整的研究體系與紀錄。近年M+博物館收集與整理許多香港現代主義建築師的資料，加上剛舉辦的貝聿銘回顧展覽，增加了香港建築文化的學術討論。
